Intuition, learning to hear the little whisper within.
Hello my dear one…
Do you want to go to that gathering?
Do you want to meet those people today?
Do you want this outfit or that one? Maybe you want the combination of them, but won’t it be too wild?
Do you feel like you should … I could keep going on and on.
The endless questions, decisions, actions to take, road to go on.
Not so long ago I was reaching for someone else to tell me, for someone else to guide me. For someone else to know what I need in my life, in my day, in the stage of my life I am in. OHH.
Now what is this post going to be about?
The little whisper within. Sometimes the little one, other times it can scream, but the guidance that we each have within.
I will again look at how this has played out, showed itself and turned around in my life, how I started hearing the guidance within much clearer and what was a practice that helped me.
Remember to make your space cozy and safe while we explore this beautiful topic about intuition. Have you already got your tea? A candle? Maybe a blanket? Then let’s dive in.
Do you remember a time when you heard a little guidance inside, but decided to not go with it?
How did that feel afterwards?
How I started hearing my intuition a little better.
Before and after.
I will divide it now into before and after, since there have been different periods in my journey.
A part of my journey has been turning off the overthinking and hearing, feeling the answer. Overthinking can be draining, I know. I am still working on it myself;)
Before I started to listen and act on my intuition, I used to ask for guidance outside of me. Asking for permission, asking for what, how, why, is it good what I think and want to do. Of course, this involves other traumas, beliefs and so on. But this time let’s look at intuition.
For example, I used to hear a silent whisper, didn’t know what it was, and then I asked someone else to validate this whisper.
Such as:
- I saw an outfit and I felt called to try it on, but I asked the friends near me is it really good, does it look good? Is it too much?
- I went with what others wanted, because of not fully trusting the whisper within (often not even hearing it or ALLOWING myself to hear it).
After I began my healing journey, started attracting new people into my life, step by step coming out of the mess, I started to hear the little whisper a little more. At first it was very subtle, sometimes so quiet. Then it grew, became louder and I just kept inviting it.
How does it look like now:
- Even choosing things like candles, tea, I get energetically pulled to one or the other.
- In terms of outfits – no doubt, I feel what I want to wear and wear it proudly. Haven’t asked for anyone else’s opinion in a long time.
- Overall hearing the whisper within much louder and more confident. Inviting it in anything and at any time.
A practice to help you hear the whisper better
When choosing simple daily things, such as, how much sugar you want in your coffee, asking yourself and allowing the answer to come in. Not just automatically doing what you have been doing, but allowing yourself to feel what is right.
Yes, it might seem silly that I start with “a cup of coffee”, but these little moments where I allowed myself to hear and feel what I desire started to build up, over time leading to bigger decisions.
I started this with exactly that. I asked myself how much sugar I want in my coffee, what do I want to eat for dinner, do I want to light my candle now or later, which perfume feels best today. And then allowing for the answer to come from within.
If taking a walk through the park- listening and feeling where I want to take a turn, where I am pulled to go.
And this can be done with any little daily decision.
After a while I started to hear / feel what’s best more and more, but I started with the little things.
Allowing myself to feel which bracelet, which outfit (I cannot go out if I don’t feel the outfit, haha), what drink, which notebook, and so on.
And oh, when I started hearing and feeling the whisper on bigger things, such as, how I feel around certain people, should I stay or go, should I say no to going out, should I say no and create a boundary. That was a bit harder and took more time. But eventually became easier. Setting boundaries, acting on desires, feeling like I want to do something new. It took more time to hear what is right. I am still learning. But I have already made some difficult decisions, based on what I felt is right for me.
When you try this practice in your own days, if the answers don’t come to you straight away that’s totally normal :). Just keep asking and giving time to listen and hear the answer and taking a step to fulfill it. It took me some time, but here we are now. I heard and now I am creating my blog. Amazing, hah.
Remember, that this is not an overnight miracle. It takes time. So, trust it, build the trust within.
Does this practice speak to you, do you want to try it out?
Hope this helps you on your journey and you got something out for yourself from this post.
Till next time!
